Cordillera Huayhuash Trek from Huaraz
One of the most spectacular mountain circuits on Earth.
Overview
The Cordillera Huayhuash circuit is, for many, the finest trek in the Peruvian Andes. South of Huaraz, this remote range packs in colossal peaks like Yerupaja and Siula Grande, made famous by the book and film "Touching the Void". You will hike past turquoise lakes, glacial valleys and high-altitude camps, far from the crowded trails and surrounded by the silence only the high mountains can offer.
It is a demanding, multi-day camping expedition that requires full self-sufficiency, so we handle all the logistics for you: transport, local guides, muleteers, mules, cooking and community permits. With more than 20 years guiding travellers across the Cordillera Blanca and Huayhuash, we tailor the itinerary to your days and your level. Tell us your dates on WhatsApp and we will build your expedition together.

Frequently asked questions
How many days does the Cordillera Huayhuash trek take?
The full circuit takes 8 to 12 days. If you have less time, we offer the mini-Huayhuash version of 4 to 5 days, covering the best of the massif.
How difficult is it?
It is a demanding high-mountain trek with several passes between 4,700 and 5,000 m. Good physical condition and ideally prior acclimatisation in Huaraz are required.
Do I need to acclimatise before starting?
Yes, we recommend spending at least a couple of days in Huaraz or doing acclimatisation hikes before the circuit to reduce the risk of altitude sickness.
What does the camp logistics include?
We run everything: muleteers, mules, tents, cooking service, meals and community permits. You walk light while we manage the rest.
How much does the trek cost?
The price is built to measure based on the days, group size and services. Message us on WhatsApp with your dates and we will send an itinerary and quote.
What is the best time to do it?
The dry season, between May and September, offers the best conditions with clear skies and good trails. We will arrange the ideal date with you on WhatsApp.
